This page explains how to delete your WildTruth account and what happens to your data when you do. You can delete your account yourself inside the app. You do not need to ask us for permission.

If you have not signed in recently, the app will ask you to enter your current password first. This is a security check so that nobody else can delete your account from your unlocked phone. After you enter it, tap Confirm & schedule.
Deletion is not immediate. Your account is scheduled for deletion 7 days after you confirm.
During those 7 days your account keeps working normally, and you can change your mind. To cancel, go back to the same Profile screen. A card titled Account deletion shows the scheduled date. Tap Cancel deletion.
Once the 7 days are up and deletion actually starts, it cannot be stopped or undone. At that point the app shows Deletion in progress and there is no cancel button.
If you subscribed to Premium through the App Store or Google Play, you must cancel that subscription separately, in your store's subscription settings. Deleting your WildTruth account does not cancel it and does not refund it.
Promotional or earned free months do not survive account deletion.
| Day 0 | You confirm deletion in the app. Your account keeps working normally. |

| Ongoing | What you contributed to the public food database stays, with your identity removed from it. See section 5. |

Subject: Account Deletion Request
Include the email address on the WildTruth account you want deleted. We need it to find the right account. We will review the request and process the deletion.
As stated in our Privacy Policy, we respond to requests like this within 30 days (45 days for California CCPA requests, where the law allows).
When deletion runs, the following is permanently removed:
After deletion finishes we run a check for anything left behind, and repeat the clean-up if anything is found.
As set out in our Privacy Policy, your email address, scan history and personal data are permanently removed within 30 days, and backup copies are purged within 90 days.
Some things are deliberately kept. In every case below, your identity is removed from them — what stays is the content or the number, not you.
These stay, with your name and account ID stripped out:
Why: this information is the shared food database that other people rely on. Removing it would take accurate food information away from everyone else. So the content stays and the person is removed from it.
If a photo you uploaded was already published on a product page, the photo itself stays. The record linking it to you is deleted, so the photo is no longer attributed to anyone.
If you would rather a published photo were taken down as well, email us at app@trueatzapp.com and say which product it is on.
We keep a stripped-down record of points and payouts so our financial history stays complete after the account is gone.
Each kept record holds only an amount, a type, and a date to the day. It deliberately contains no user ID, no barcode, no source record ID, and no exact time. The date is reduced to the day on purpose, because a precise time plus an amount could be matched against public data. Nothing in it points back to you.
We keep a short receipt recording that a deletion was completed, so we can answer questions about it later. It is filed under a random ID and names nobody. It records the time the deletion completed and the length of the grace period.
If another user's record named you — for example a referral, or a Premium grant that named you as their clinician — that record belongs to them and is kept. Your account ID is removed from it. Deleting their record would take away something they are entitled to.
If you held a clinician code, the code is kept and permanently revoked, and your account ID is removed from it. Codes are printed and handed to patients, so a revoked code is never reissued to anyone else.
